Application for a postdoctoral position is open.
Single
Molecule Spectroscopy group of Ivan Scheblykin at the Department of Chemical
Physics headed by Prof. Villy Sundström at Lund University, Sweden
Candidates
should not have permanent residence in Sweden and have Ph.D. exam passed not
before 1st of October 2003. Deadline for application is 1st
of September. Application for a postdoctoral scholarship will be sent to
Wenner-Gren foundation (http://www.swgc.org/postdoktorsstipendier-sverige.aspx)
for the chosen candidate. The decision will be known in December 2008.
The position is for 1+1 year with starting date as early as January 1st,
2009.
The
aim of the project is to study optical and electronic properties of
multi-chromophoric organic nanoparticles (like e.g. conjugated polymers, dye
aggregates, light-harvesting complexes) by means of single molecule spectroscopy
(wide-field and confocal steady state and time-resolved microscopy).
An ideal candidate:
·
has a
strong publication list;
·
is an
experimentalist with a strong background in chemical physics and in optics and
optical spectroscopy in particular;
·
has
substantial experience of working in a laser lab;
·
is
familiar with conjugated systems and has basic knowledge about excited state
dynamics in organic materials;
·
is not
afraid of working with mechanics and electronics and doing basic work in a
mechanical workshop; All our main setups are home-built!
·
has an
experience in programming in Labview and Matlab (or similar packages)
The
project will involve close collaboration with ultra-fast spectroscopy groups of
the Department. More information about the Department and Single Molecule
Spectroscopy group can be found at our webpage: http://www.chemphys.lu.se.
